AEGEE - AEGEE stands for Association des Etats Generaux des Etudiants de l’Europe. Is it also sometimes referred to as the European
Students’ Forum.
AC - Audit Commission checks the accounting of AEGEE-Europe and AEGEE locals (in special cases) and presents their findings to each Agora. They collect and check the Financial reports of Antennae and WGs, that are to be sent in each year.
AR - Activity Report. The Activity and Financial Reports help to build an accurate overview of the network. The Activity Report has to be sent to the CD once a year in order to help to build an accurate overview of the network and the status of your Antenna.
BE - Beyond Europe. The Flagship Project of 2010/2011. It will deal with the role of Europe facing Global Challenges, and how it interacts with other regions of the world.
CD - Comité Directeur. The Comite Directeur or European board of directors is the executive body of AEGEE-Europe. It directs and represents the association and co-ordinates its work. The head office is located in Brussels.
CdA - Convention d’Adhésion. The contract a local signs with the CD to become an antenna.
CIA - Corpus Iuridicum AEGEEnse. The statutes of AEGEE Europe.
CWG - Culture Working Group. AEGEE-CWG aims to enhance the knowledge, understanding and respect of the wide variety of cultures in Europe and acts for the development of cultural and artistic diversity.
DWG - Dance Working Group. DWG is supporting events by helping out with dance workshops, introducing different ways of dancing in different cultures, especially during Summer Universities and statutory meetings.
EBM - European Boards’ Meeting. The EBM (200-400 participants) involves AEGEE Antennae in the projects and activities of the European Bodies of AEGEE, providing a platform for interaction. At the EBM the Action Agenda for the whole year is prepared.
EnWG - Environmental Working Group. EnWG aims to raise awareness on environmental issues within AEGEE and European youth and to facilitate
discussion on the topic. They initiate and support environmental activities within AEGEE network reducing AEGEE’s ecological impact.
ES - European School. A 7-9 days training course for members who want to become more active in AEGEE.
FP - Flagship Project AEGEE-Europe chooses each two years a thematic focus: the Flagship Topic, which provides the framework for AEGEE-Europe’s
main project for that period, the Flagship Project. The aim of a Flagship Project is not just to organise conferences on the topic, but to have real impact on the problem: to encourage AEGEE members to think and act, and to gather and document the results.
HRWG - Human Rights Working Group. HRWG is there to bring human rights violations into public notice and to raise awareness of violations of human dignity in order to make sure that such crimes are not neglected or forgotten. Its main activities are spreading information and organising and supporting projects within AEGEE on the subject of Human Rights.
IPWG - International Politics Working Group. IPWG has a very active AEGEE mailing list discussing current issues in international and European politics. TThey organise several events every year, such as the Diplomatic Seminar and European Citizenship Trainings, in cooperation with AEGEE
locals.
JC - Juridical Commission verifies the conformity if the statutes of each AEGEE local with the guidelines defined by AEGEE-Europe and integrates the modifications of the statutes adopted by the Agora. JC takes care that all procedures during statutory meetings are done according to the statutes and therefore legally valid.
LA - Liaison Agent/Agency; Les Anciens.
LO - Liaison Officer Represents AEGEE-Europe towards an institution or organisation (for example UNESCO or European Youth Foundation).
LTC - Local Training Course. A local training course for members who want to become more active in AEGEE. Shorter and more basic than the European school.
MemCom - Members Commission investigates in cases that require legitimate action caused by problems between AEGEE-bodies.
NetCom - Network Commission is responsible for the contact with the network .
NetCommie - Network Commissioner supports and motivates the locals in their area and helps to set up new locals.
NWM - Network Meeting. Each NetCommie organises a Network Meeting (NWM), which aims at gathering (cooperation), training (learning experience) and solving (locals’ problems). They are the perfect opportunity to discuss common activities and share experience.
PRWG - Public Relations Working Group. PRWG is the meeting point of all AEGEE members who have an interest in PR. They assist the PR director of the CD and take active part in preparations of publications, and can help locals which have questions related to PR.
RTC – Regional Training Course.
SU - Summer University. Each summer, our local branches organise around 100 courses with more than 3000 participants, fostering cultural
exchange and language learning. For many participants it is their first contact with AEGEE members and their first opportunity to travel to another country while learning what AEGEE spirit really is.
SUCT - Summer University Coordination Team. The Summer University Project is centrally coordinated by the SUCT. It is a team consisting of four AEGEE-members and one appointed Comité Directeur member.
SuFu - Sustaining our Future.
VFWG - Visa Freedom Working Group. VFWG (internally called Visa Freedom Fighters,) supports the
network with information about visa issues through a pool of visa experts, gives workshops at statutory meetings and prepares publications on visa issues.
WG - Working Group. Working Groups take care of specific subjects that are of importance for AEGEE, organising own initiatives and supporting locals with information and content for their events.
YnY - YOUrope needs YOU! YOUrope Needs YOU! aims at empowering high school students all over Europe to become active members of society.
WDEE - Where does Europe End. A project aiming to understand the picture of Europe.
